We are pursuing a 4-prong strategy to increase awareness of the Latino gap in the senior ranks of the Armed Forces. This strategy is intended to motivate a national dialogue on how best to address this problem. Our recommendation at this point is to create a Defense Advisory Committee on Latinos in the Services to formally investigate potential solutions, especially regarding mentoring, development and promotion of Latino officers.
